A Marine Corps Lawyer's Path to Fredericksburg
Mr. Pelt earned his law degree from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University in 2000 and began his legal career in uniform, serving on active duty as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps. His assignments included Marine Corps Base Quantico and Marine Barracks Washington, 8th and I, the Marine Corps' oldest post, in Washington, D.C.
He left active duty as a Captain in 2005 and continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserve until 2012, separating at the rank of Major. The Marine Corps' emphasis on preparation, discipline, and standing up for the people you represent has shaped how he practices law ever since.
Mr. Pelt has lived and worked in the Fredericksburg and Stafford County community since 2000. When he opened Pelt Law, PLC, he built it deliberately as a solo practice: clients work directly with him from the first conversation through the resolution of their matter.
